My son is getting close to graduating so I decided we needed to take a few photos to remember this year by. It’s been a whirlwind of craziness the past few years for us and I am so proud of how my son has managed to stay strong and focused through it all. Together…we’ve moved a few times, gave up some things, gained some new experiences and came out on the other side of it. My son has been my rock through every bit of the struggle. I think it’s important to want to learn and grow in life. It’s hard for a mom to let go of trying to protect their child no matter what age their child is. At some point you realize it’s simply impossible to do…at least I did. This young man is constantly watching, listening and absorbing the lessons being taught in the everyday moments of life. At first, I found that really hard to accept. But now, I think the lessons he’s learned are going to serve him well for many years to come. I love my son’s ability to see the good in the people he respects. I love that my son is always authentic with others. I love my son…period. He makes me proud every single day. The quote below reminds me so much of my son and how he’s chosen to roll with the changes in life that we honestly never saw coming our way.
“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude
toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather
than allowing it to master you.”
I’m excited for him to go to college and make his dreams a reality in the very near future. I will share more soon, but this one is a favorite of mine from that day.
